About Prenuptial & Postnuptial Agreements
Details..

A Prenuptial Agreement is meant to prepare you for your upcoming nuptials and a Postnuptial Agreement is prepared after the marriage date. Both Agreements are meant to memorialize financial agreements and define the parties' rights, noting how they differ from California law.
So, while these agreements may be viewed as only a way to protect assets and income in the event of divorce, making some feel uneasy about the solid foundation they are creating for the life they want together, I offer another viewpoint. Preparation for your upcoming nuptials and life together is preparation for marriage and preparation is key to a solid foundation.

When I began looking at Prenuptial and Postnuptial Agreements from a collaborative purview, I saw the opportunity to support clients to prepare for a successful marriage. Through workbooks, homework, and 4-way sessions with parties and attorneys, the approach to drafting a prenuptial or postnuptial agreement involves more than a discussion of rights and responsibilities. The 4-way meetings involve meaningful discussions around each parties' approach to problem-solving, making financial decisions, and how to do life together. Collaborative prenuptial and postnuptial agreements are more than a contract that addresses support, custody and property rights. They are part of a process that sets up a couple for future success and a lasting marriage.
