When I ask my clients what they need, time and time again, they say they want someone to help them navigate the process of divorce. They express that while they've known people who have been through a divorce, it's new to them, and they fear the unknown. It's like being in the middle of the ocean, not seeing land, and not knowing what is lurking beneath the surface or when the storm will hit. The fear of the future is palpable. They need to trust the person who is navigating. They need someone to hold their hand and guide them forward, peacefully, with honor and respect to both parties. I will provide a plan that brings confidence to the parties and an explanation of the direction we are headed. I hope to give my clients a sense of trust in my abilities to calmly move them through the mediation process and help them craft reasonable and mutually agreeable settlements.
My unique system, "A New Life Divorce Process" was created to bring confidence, education and expectation to my clients. I look forward to walking my clients through the process, which is client-centered and tailored to meet the objectives of each party. It is my job to help the parties navigate the settlement process and be the neutral voice in the room, and sometimes to be the objective voice of reason. My goal is to help you settle your dispute amicably and help you build the tools to co-exist and co-parent successfully. This is accomplished in 3 stages: The first stage is a entitled "A Firm Foundation" and involves establishing trust in the process, trust in the mediator and providing education to the parties. The second stage is entitled "The Heart of the Matter" and moves the parties to a place of safe vulnerability, where they can expressing goals and desires and learn what's possible in their case. Finally, the "Lighting the Way" stage is about seeing Agreements take shape and building hope in a new life for the future, while leaving room to honor the past.
